The anti-malware protection of NIS has been enhanced by ‘Quorum’ – the reputation-based monitoring system introduced in the 2010 edition. Amazon Kindle for PC now available. (Free download for Windows 7, Vista & XP). Amazon has released a Kindle for PC app, available as a free 5.17MB download for Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

Much like the Kindle for iPhone app, Kindle for PC syncs your Amazon e-book downloads and shows them on your computer for convenient reading either when you’re away from your svelte e-book reader or if you chose not to buy it in the first place. Take Alienware’s M17x, shrink it down to the all-purpose size bracket (our test unit had a 15.6-inch screen), and pop in a Core i7 CPU. If you don’t need to read any further, that’s about as reductive as it gets. While a baseline machine starts at $1499, the real power doesn’t exactly come cheap (our review unit, as configured, sells for about $2999). But how does the M15x fare versus its bigger brother?
