Google Sync gets Gmail support. Users with iPhone, iPod Touch and Windows Mobile based devices can now enjoy the push Gmail support through Google Sync. Google Sync is a service which was launched by Google earlier this year to synchronize Google Calendar and Gmail contacts with your cellphone.

You can set up push Gmail by itself or choose to sync your Contacts and/or Calendar as well,if you don’t need them all synced. If you’re using an iPhone, make sure you’re running iPhone OS version 3.0 or above (on your device, click Settings > General > About and scroll down until you see Version). If your software is out of date, follow Apple’s upgrade instructions to upgrade to the latest iPhone OS software. Next, visit m.google.com/sync from your computer for set up instructions. If you’re already using Google Sync, you can just enable push mail.

While Google Sync is also available for Symbian S60 and BlackBerry, it doesnt seem to be supporting push Gmail support for the moment
